Germany, Luftwaffe. A Transport and Glider Clasp, Silver Grade
(Luftwaffe Frontflugspange für Transport-und Luftlandeflieger in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika in mid-flight, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 75.85 mm (w) x 25.98 mm (h), weighing 18.2 grams, with total loss of silver finish evident in addition to repair of the reverse rivet securing the obverse eagle in place, as well as post-manufacture bending of the clasp, in very fine condition.
