(Luftwaffe Fliegerschützenabzeichen im Etui). An early war, "Battle of Britain" period badge, of silvered and patinated nickel-silver; the wreath consisting of laurel leaves on the left side of the wreath, and oak leaves on the right side of the wreath, with a mobile swastika on the bottom of the wreath, and an eagle superimposed onto the badge holding lightning bolts in its talons; the reverse plain, with a vertical needle style pinback, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; marked “C. E. Juncker, Berlin SW” on the reverse; measuring 40.98 mm (w) x 52.15 mm (h); weighing 23.3 grams. Accompanied by its case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock, with a lightly textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the case embossed “Luftwaffen Fliegerschützenabzeichen” in golden lettering; with a lined interior lid, a slotted medal bed, an intact interior fabric hinge, a functional spring catch and stud release, and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 68 mm (w) x 77 mm (h); with a hairline crack in the wreath of the badge; in overall near very fine condition.
