A Luftwaffe Air Gunner badge (manufactured without lightning bolts); in fine early war quality silvered tombac; two-piece construction; eagle attached to the wreath via two rivets; vertical pinback with a functional hinge/catch assembly; measuring 52.59 mm x 42.78 mm; weighing 38.5 grams; maker marked “B&N, L” (Berg & Nolte, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse; in near mint condition. With its original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock with a dark blue faux leather (leatherette) exterior; with a dark blue interior silk liner and a dark blue felt recessed medal bed; functional push-button; perfectly intact interior fabric hinge cover with a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 78 mm x 78 mm; case in extremely fine condition.
