Germany, Heer. A Flak Badge, by Hermann Aurich
(Heeres-Flak Abzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with depressed and crimped hinge with a vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Hermann Aurich, Dresden, measuring 44.73 mm (w) x 60.02 mm (h), weighing 31.0 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of silver finish with some oxidation to the reverse, in very fine condition.
