Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by Friedrich Linden
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink with gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of manufacture by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.83 mm (w) x 53.05 mm (h), weighing 37.8 grams, the catch is missing and the wreath demonstrates moderate loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
