Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by G.H. Osang
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, bearing an upside-down maker’s mark of “G.H. OSANG, DRESDEN”, measuring 42.25 mm (w) x 53.39 mm (h), weighing 33.9 grams, with most of the gilt and silver finish lost, in near extremely fine condition.
