Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by Imme & Sohn
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “IMME & SOHN, BERLIN”, measuring 41.64 mm (w) x 52.32 mm (h), weighing 33.6 grams, the reverse bears a number of illegible hand-etched inscriptions, in overall near extremely fine condition.
