Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann
(Flakkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of E. Ferdinand Wiedmann, Frankfurt-am-Main, measuring 46.22 mm (w) x 64.68 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, a gilt coating has been applied to the obverse with spillover visible on the reverse, in overall very fine condition.
