Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge, by Steinhauer & Lück
(Flakkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch which in turn emanates from an oblong plate, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 44.84 mm (w) x 64.06 mm (h) (inclusive of wingspan), weighing 31.6 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of finish, in very fine condition.
