Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge with Case
(Flakkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 46.30 mm (w) x 66.87 mm (h), weighing 31.7 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt inscription of “FLAK-KAMPF-ABZ.”, the interior with a blue satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted blue felt medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 75 mm (w) x 84 mm (l) x 26 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
