(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a finely-detailed swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with dual rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, measuring 65.10 mm (w) x 53.12 mm (h), weighing 44.6 grams, with some loss of finish evident to the wreath, a quintessential second pattern Juncker Pilot’s Badge in overall extremely fine condition.
