Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot’s Badge, by Friedrich Linden
(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, obverse presenting with a swooping Luftwaffe-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two rivets holding the eagle in place visible, unmarked but bearing the physical characteristics of manufacture by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, with etched inscription of “E.P.”, measuring 64.55 mm (w) x 53.08 mm (h), weighing 42.4 grams, in better than very fine condition.
