(Flugzeugführerabzeichen mit Etui). Constructed of nickel-silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Schneider, Vienna, measuring 65.50 mm (w) x 53.32 mm (h), weighing 41.4 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux blue leather exterior liner, the lid with a gilt inscription of “LUFTWAFFEN-FLUGZEUGFÜHRER-ABZEICHEN”, measuring 80 mm (w) x 80 mm (l) x 28 mm (h), with evidence of catch repair, in overall near extremely fine condition.
