Germany, Luftwaffe. A Radio Operator and Air Gunner Badge, by Berg & Nolte
(Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordfunker). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a pair of lightning bolts in its talons, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Berg & Nolte, Lüdenscheid, measuring 45.38 mm (w) x 52.64 mm (h), weighing 40.1 grams, with minor loss of silver finish to the obverse exposing the tombak base metal, in extremely fine condition.
