A badge constructed of zink, an oval shaped border of oak leaves tied at the base, a jagged lightning bolt, with a pebbled interior, emanates from an ominous thunder cloud, striking a mountain range below, three-domed rivets attach the tombak Luftwaffe-style eagle clutching a mobile swastika to the badge body, the reverse presents a crimped hinge, wide pin, and massive catch assembly, maker mark “R. K.” for Rudolf Karneth and Sohn, measures 43.22 mm (w) x 56.05 mm (h), weighs 27 g, and in extremely fine condition.
