Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by Gebrüder Wegerhoff
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink with brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a gilded diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two depressed rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting flattened catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid, measuring 43.04 mm (w) x 54.04 mm (h), weighing 32.5 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of silver finish to the wreath in addition to minor surface oxidation, in very fine condition
