A Fine Early Quality Manufacture Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by C. E. Juncker of Berlin
A fine early quality textbook example of a “Pilotenabzeichen”; two-piece construction; silvered tombac oval wreath with laurel wreaths towards the left side and oak leaves towards the right side, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons; two rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; measuring 52.71 mm x 65.50 mm; slightly vaulted; maker marked “C. E. Juncker, Berlin S. W” on the reverse; weighing 44.9 grams; with the original silvering extremely well preserved; in better than extremely fine condition.
