Germany. A Fine Early Quality Manufacture Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by C. E. Juncker of Berlin
A fine early quality textbook example of a “Pilotenabzeichen”; two-piece construction; in nickel-silver oval wreath with laurel leaves towards the left side side, and oak leaves towards the right side of the wreath, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons; two rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; measuring 66.19 mm x 52.98 mm; weighing 45.3 grams; slightly vaulted; maker marked “C. E. Juncker, Berlin S. W.” on the reverse; in better than extremely fine condition.
