Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge, by Gebrüder Schneider
(Pilotenabzeichen). Two-piece construction, a nickel-silver oval wreath with laurel leaves towards the left side and oak leaves towards the right side, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons, two tombak rivets on the reverse, vertical needle style pin, with a long barrel hinge, and a round wire catch, maker marked “Gebrüder Scheider, Wien” on the reverse, measuring 65.65 mm (w) x 52.71 mm (h), weighing 38.5 grams, in overall very fine condition.
