Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot’s Badge by C.E. Juncker in Case
A fine early quality “Pilotenabzeichen”; two-piece construction; silvered tombac oval wreath with laurel wreaths towards the left side and oak leaves towards the right side, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle (in nickel-silver) with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons; two tombac rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; slightly vaulted; maker marked “CEJ” for “C. E. Juncker, Berlin” on the reverse; measuring 66.45 mm x 53.17mm; weighing 31.5 grams; with owner's initials scratched into the wreath (H S); hardly worn, in better than extremely fine condition. In an early case of issue, also in extremely fine condition. A very desirable badge in top condition.
