(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Instituted on August 12, 1935. Constructed of silvered and patinated tombac, consisting of an oak and laurel wreath, bearing a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a hand-filed mobile swastika, the reverse plain with a vertical pinback, and a barrel hinge unique to this maker, and a flat wire catch, marked GWL for Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid on the reverse, measuring 63.59 mm (w) x 52.55 mm (h), weighing 44.2 grams, and in overall very fine condition.
