Constructed of a light wooden frame with a gently pebbled faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt inscription of “FLUGZEUGFÜHRERABZ.”, the interior with a dark blue rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted dark blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked but with the characteristics of a generic early pattern case, measuring 78 mm (w) x 78 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue to the exterior liner, in near extremely fine condition.
