Two-piece construction, of silvered and patinated nickel silver; the wreath consisting of laurel leaves on the left side of the wreath, and oak leaves on the right side of the wreath, with a mobile swastika on the bottom of the wreath, and an eagle superimposed onto the badge holding lightning bolts in its talons; the reverse plain, with a vertical needle style pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat wire catch; marked “JMME & SOHN, BERLIN” on the reverse; measuring 40.48 mm (w) x 53.22 mm (h); weighing 33.8 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a lightly textured blue faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the case embossed “Luftwaffenfliegerschützenabzeichen” in golden lettering; with a lined interior lid, with a slotted medal bed, intact fabric hinge cover, functional spring catch with stud release, and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 68 mm (w) x 78 mm (h); in overall very fine condition.
