Germany, NSFK. A 1938 National Socialist Flying Corps (NSFK) Flight Award Table Medal, with Case
(Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Deutschlandflug 1938 Plakette). Constructed of bronzed aluminum, the obverse depicting a central National Socialist Flying Corps (NSFK) insignia in the form of Icarus in mid-flight, topped by initials “NSFK” and overlaid by a mobile swastika, circumscribed by inscription of “NATIONALSOZIALISTISCHES FLIEGERKORPS DEUTSCHLANDFLUG 1938” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST FLYING CORPS GERMAN FLIGHT 1938”), the reverse with an inscription of “MIT UNSEREM FÜHRER IM GLEICHEN SCHRITT UM TRITT, FLIEGEN WIR FÜR UNSER EWIGES DEUTSCHLAND” (“IN EQUAL PACE AND STRIDE, WITH OUR FÜHRER WE FLY FOR OUR ETERNAL GERMANY”), above an embossed signature of NSFK leader Friedrich Christiansen and award number “5990”, unmarked, measuring 95 mm (w) x 77 mm (h), accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a padded white satin-type lid liner with embossed inscription “NATIONALSOZIALISTISCHES FLIEGERKORPS, DER KORPSFÜHRER” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST FLYING CORPS, THE CORPS LEADER”), with a partially intact hinge cover and depressed blue felt medal bed, functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and dual functional metal hinges, unmarked, measuring 120 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
