Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftgau Norway Honour Plaque, by Kusu, Oslo
(Ehrenschild des Luftgaukommandos Norwegen). Constructed of patinated cast zink, the obverse bearing central raised inscriptions of “FÜR BESONDERE LEISTUNG” (“FOR OUTSTANDING MERIT”) and “DER KOMMANDIERENDE GENERAL UND BEFEHLSHABER IM LUFTGAU NORWEGEN” (“THE COMMANDING GENERAL AND SUPREME COMMANDER OF LUFTGAU NORWAY”), topped by a raised Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a reindeer mounted by a rider, the reverse with a suspension clip, engraved with issue number “4932”, maker marked “KUSU, OSLO”, measuring 110 mm (w) x 150 mm (h), sporadic patches of oxidation are evident to both the obverse and reverse, in overall better than very fine condition.
