A fine quality manufacture German Eagle Order with Swords (Deutscher Adlerorden V. Klasse mit Schwertern) by a well-known maker; multi-piece construction; maltesian cross in gilded silver and well preserved white enamels; with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross; on a ribbon for suspension; with its period-original ribbon and a horizontal pinback sewn onto the reverse; measuring 44.75 mm x 44.55 mm; weighing 26.0 grams; better than extremely fine condition. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red faux leather (leatherette) exterior; embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid; interior of the lid lined in off-white velvet; embossed “Deutscher Adlerorden V. Klasse mit Schwertern” in golden lettering on the inside of the lid; with a black recessed medal bed; functional clasp for opening and closing; intact interior hinge cover with very light fraying on the edges; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 124 mm x 70 mm; light scuffing on the exterior from storage, but overall extremely fine condition.
