A Fine Order of the German Eagle with Award Document; Spanish Recipient
This is a very fine Order of the German Eagle award medal with a matching award document presented to “dem Cabo Don Narciso Bernardo Rodrigo”. The medal is that if the second type constructed in silver, with swords. It is impressed with the national crescent moon hallmark, marked “835” for silver content, and maker marked “PR. Münze Berlin” on the rim. It measures 38 mm in diameter and features an original ribbon with pinback. The medal has developed attractive patina from age, and sports light contact marks that give it character. The original case of issue is constructed of a red leatherette exterior with a carton core. It features a recessed medal bed for medal placement. The case is contemporarily repaired, fair condition. The document sleeve features a golden embossed national eagle on the obverse. It is in mint condition, without any signs of age or wear. The award document itself is issued to “dem Cabo Don Narciso Bernardo Rodrigo”, in Berlin, on June 5th, 1939. It also features a watermark of the “Chef der Ordenskanzlei” and a facsimile of the Staatsminister. It measures 298 mm x 211 mm and is in mint condition, without any signs of age or wear. Also included is a blank Spanish unofficial copy of the award document, measuring 297 mm x 213 mm, and in mint condition.
