A very fine quality manufacture Order of the German Eagle 2nd Class (Deutscher Adlerorden II. Stufe) by a desirable maker; multi-piece construction; maltesian cross in silver and extremely well preserved white enamels; slightly vaulted; with four national eagles “Hoheitszeichen” between the arms of the cross; vertical pinback with functional hinge/catch assembly; pinback marked “900” for silver content and maker marked “21” for “Godet & Co. of Berlin”; measuring 49.60 x 49.73 mm; weighing 29.7 grams; light patina from age; extremely fine condition. Accompanied by its original case of issue constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red faux leather (leatherette) exterior; embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside of the lid; interior of the lid lined in off-white velvet, embossed “Deutscher Adlerorden II. Stufe mit Schwertern’: with a black recessed medal bed; functional clasp for opening and closing; intact fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 106 mm x 105 mm; extremely fine condition.
