Germany. An Eagle Order, Fifth Class, by Godet & Co.
(Deutscher Adlerorden V. Klasse). Issued 1937-1945. Of multi-piece construction, consisting of a silver gilt Maltese cross with white enameled arms, with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) separately affixed between each arm of the cross; the obverse and reverse identical; suspended from a period original ribbon with a functional horizontal pinback attached to the reverse; unmarked, but displaying the high quality manufacturing characteristics of Godet & Co; measuring 44.91 mm (w) x 44.97 mm (h); weighing 22.9 grams; very slight discolouration of the white enamels from age, along with very minimal loss of its original gilt finish; in overall virtually mint condition.
