1. Germany. An Order of the German Eagle, Breast Star to the Merit Cross, by Godet & Co.
(Bruststern zum Verdienstkreuz des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler). Issued 1939-1943. A six-pointed silver star with a silver gilt Maltese star with white enameled arms attached to the obverse, with partially enameled national eagles between the arms of the cross; the reverse plain, with two hollow rivets, with a vertical pinback, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; marked “900” for silver content”; not maker marked but textbook example by maker “Grebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin”; measuring 65.05 mm (w) x 75.10 mm (h); weighing 43.1 grams; slight enamel restoration to white enamel in the center, in overall extremely fine condition.
