Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Honour Crosses of the German Mother
(Ehrenkreuze der Deutschen Mutter). A pair of Honour Crosses of the German Mother, including a Bronze Grade award, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, with the quadrants joined by sun rays, with a central black mobile swastika on a white enameled disc, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), the reverse with an etched institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a signature of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), with some chipping of the enamels evident, in overall very fine condition, and; a Silver Grade award, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-colorued enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, of identical composition and dimensions, in near extremely fine condition.
