Germany, Third Reich. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Gold Grade with Miniature

(Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter in Gold mit Miniatur). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, with a central black swastika on a white enameled background, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), the reverse with an etched institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a facsimile of the Führer, measuring 35 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), in better than very fine condition, accompanied by its period original miniature, constructed of gilded zink with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original bowtie ribbon, of identical appearance, measuring 16 mm (w) x 22 mm (h), in very fine condition.
