Germany, Third Reich. An Honour Cross of the German Mother in Gold

(Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter in Gold). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, with a central black swastika on a white enameled medallion, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), with stylized sun rays between the quadrants, the reverse with an institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a facsimile of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), flecking of enamels evident, otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
