(Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes, Stern des Ehrenzeichens mit Etui und Bänder). Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a four-pointed ribbed star, bearing a central white enameled Geneva Cross, with a central German Red Cross (DRK) insignia consisting of a central red enameled Geneva Cross within a black ring bearing an inscription of “DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ” (“GERMAN RED CROSS”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 80.16 mm (w) x 78.60 mm (h), weighing 51.8 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the interior with a padded black rayon lid liner and slotted black velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 92 mm (w) x 92 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), with minor flecking evident to the enamels and some material fatigue visible to the exterior of the case, in near extremely fine condition; accompanied by an assortment of Third Reich- and postwar-period ribbons, including two postwar (1957 version) Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross ribbons, four 1939 Iron Cross II ribbons with a roll of identical surplus ribbon, four War Merit Cross II Class ribbons, and one each for the Sudetenland Medal, West Wall Medal and, notably, the 1914 Iron Cross II Class for Non-Combatants, some demonstrating soiling and fatigue consistent with period wear, in overall very fine condition.
