Germany, HJ. 1939 A National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, by Ferdinand Wagner
(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1939). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing an enameled HJ insignia, the eagle circumscribed by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER 1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “FERD. WAGNER, PFORZHEIM”, measuring 48.84 mm (w) x 47.97 mm (h), weighing 29.1 grams, demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels, in extremely fine condition.
