What's a max bid?

(Verdienstorden vom Deutschen Adler, II. Klasse mit Etui). Instituted 1 May 1937. (1937-1943 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms, with German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled backgrounds joining the quadrants, the reverse with a barrel hinge and narrow banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, the pinback marked with a silver content number of “900”, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Gebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin, measuring 49.34 mm (w) x 49.57 mm (h), weighing 29.4 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wood frame with a faux red leather exterior, the obverse lid with a gold embossed German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, border by gold embossed trim, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner bearing an inscription of “VERDIENSTKREUZ II. STUFE DES ORDENS VOM DEUTSCHEN ADLER (“MERIT CROSS II CLASS OF THE ORDER OF THE GERMAN EAGLE”), with an intact hinge cover and slotted black velvet medal bed, opening with a functional bronzed magnetic metal snap button and a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 105 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 23 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
