Germany. A HJ-Skiführerabzeichen (Ski Leader’s Badge) by Wittmann Muchen
        (HJ Ski-Führer Abzeichen). A rare HJ Youth Expert Skier Badge, constructed of a silvered bronze alloy with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular ring bearing a raised inscription of “HJ SKI-FÜHRER” (“HJ SKI LEADER”), overlaid by a pair of crossed skies, in turn bearing a central detailed edelweiss with a centrepiece consisting of a multi-coloured enameled HJ insignia, the reverse featuring dual horizontal pinbacks each meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “WITTMANN, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 59.54 mm (w) x 65.38 mm (h) overall, weighing 30.7 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock, the exterior of the lid bearing a stamped mark of “HJ SKI-FÜHRER”, the interior retaining an original wax paper liner, measuring 65 mm (w) x 75 mm (l) x 15 mm (h), with slight loss of silver finish visible to the badge, a rare and complete set in overall near extremely fine condition.
