Germany, HJ. A 1938 National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, by Gustav Brehmer
(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1938). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath surrounding a white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel inset with an enameled HJ insignia, flanked by a date of “1939” and circumscribed by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER” (“DISTRICT VICTOR”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 49.00 mm (w) x 47.26 mm (h), weighing 28.8 grams, with minor oxidation evident to the bronze, in near extremely fine condition.
