Germany, HJ. A 1939 District Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, by Ferdinand Wagner
                (Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a white enameled disc overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing a HJ insignia, topped by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER”, flanked by a date of “1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened wire catch, maker marked “FERD. WAGNER, PFORZHEIM”, measuring 48.90 mm (w) x 47.80 mm (h), weighing 29.2 grams, with some chipping evident to the enamel of the HJ insignia, in better than very fine condition.
