Germany, HJ. A 1939 National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, by Ferdinand Wagner
(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1939). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a white enameled disc bearing a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn overlaid by an enameled HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER 1939” (“DISTRICT VICTOR 1939”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “FERD. WAGNER, PFORZHEIM”, measuring 48.60 mm (w) x 48.36 mm (h), weighing 28.4 grams, extensive chipping is evident to both the HJ insignia and white disc, in fair condition.
