Germany, HJ. A 1939 National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, by Hermann Aurich
(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1938). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a central white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing an enameled HJ insignia, flanked by a date of “1939” and topped by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “H. AURICH, DRESDEN”, topped by the firm’s logo, measuring 49.46 mm (w) x 48.12 mm (h), weighing 25.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
