Germany, HJ. A 1944 National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Silver Grade, by Gustav Brehmer
(Ehrenzeichen Gausieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1944). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a white painted disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel overlaid by an HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “GAUSIEGER 1944”, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 49.69 mm (w) x 47.50 mm (h), weighing 27.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
