Germany, HJ. A Leader’s Sports Badge, with Sports Book, by Gustav Brehmer

A HJ Leader’s Sports Badge, constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath with a black enameled centrepiece, overlaid by a Tiwaz rune, in turn bearing a circular ring with an inscription of “FÜR LEISTUNGEN IN DER H.J.” (“FOR MERIT IN THE H.J.) around a central mobile swastika, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, stamped with an issue number of “12091”, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/101” for Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen, measuring 39.95 mm (w) x 50.72 mm (h), weighing 37.3 grams, with moderate oxidation evidence to the lower half of the obverse, in very fine condition; accompanied by a HJ Sports Book, constructed of a card stock binding with non-paginated interior pages, retaining a black-and-white photo of the bearer, measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), fully intact but with some exterior material fatigue evident, in better than very fine condition.
