(HJ Insignien für Fotoalbum). Constructed of a stamped zink alloy, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by an HJ insignia, overlaid by a German national eagle with its wings outstretched, the reverse with all three sets of butterfly-style attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 110 mm (w) x 70 mm (h), demonstrating loss of finish to the base metal, minor oxidation of the attachment prongs, and a small crack to the wreath at the seven o’clock position when viewed from the obverse, in very fine condition.
Footnote: While this insignia’s precise use is officially unknown, an example is included on page 192 of “The HJ: Volume 2” by Colonel John R. Angolia, 1992, and is described as most likely an album cover emblem, or less likely a decoration for an award cassette.
