A Cased 1939 Victors Badge of the District Level National Trade Competition Badge
A 1939 Kreissieger badge in its original case of issue; 2nd type; constructed of bronze and black, white, cream-coloured, and pebbled red enamels; the obverse constructed of a circular oak leaf wreath with a cream-coloured centre, inscribed “Kreissieger” on the top and dated “1939” on the bottom, with a national eagle with outstretched wings superimposed in the centre, clutching a cogwheel in its talons with a HJ diamond in the centre; the reverse left plain, with a tapered vertical pinback, barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; maker marked “H. (Hermann) Aurich, Dresden, A.10” on the reverse; measuring 40.03 mm in diameter; weighing 26.5grams. Accompanied by its original case of issue, constructed of heavy pressed paper with a textured black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; exterior of the lid embossed “Kreissieger Abz. 1939” in golden lettering; lined interior lid with a recessed medal bed; intact interior fabric hinge cover; severed exterior paper hinge; measuring 69 mm x 69 mm; overall better than very fine condition.
