A Kreissieger Badge with Matching Honourary Award Certificate Presented to Charlotte Teufel

This is fine honourary certificate presented to Charlotte Teufel for particularly good performance in the 3rd “Reichsberufswettkampf der Deutschen Studenten” (Reich Career Competition of German Students) of the University of Tübingen, with a matching Kreissieger (National Trade Competition Victor’s) badge. The document shows a watermarked National eagle clutching a swastika, designed by , and bearing the original signature of Reichsstudentenführer (Reich Student Leader) Dr. Gustav Adolf Scheel (1907–1979). It is dated to München on National Labour Day (May 1st), 1938. It measures 386 mm x 258 mm and is generally well preserved with one 40 mm sized rip towards the upper left edge of the page, with two 10 mm rips along the right edge of the page. The Victor’s badge of the National Trade Competition is that of the 2nd type, dated 1939, constructed of bronze and cream-coloured, white, and pebbled red enamels. The reverse is marked “A.G. Tham, Gabblonz A. N.” on the reverse, measuring 48 mm x 49 mm, and being extremely well preserved, with only minor contact marks, but the enamels perfectly preserved. Overall, this is a very grouping in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: These awards were given to the winners of the Reichsberufswettkampf on the district levels. The first Reichsberufswettkampf took place in 1934, the last one in 1939. They were organized by the Reich Youth Leadership (Hitler Youth) and the German Labour Front. The topics of the competition were professional practice, professional theory, ideological schooling, and for women also domestic management. The winners of these competitions gained significant occupational advantages. The winners of the Reich level competition also received the opportunity to meet Adolf Hitler.
