A pair of German medals including an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 by Wilhelm Deumer, and a German National Sports Badge by Wernstein Jena.
1) (Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918). A straight armed cross pattée, swords cross between the arms, the obverse centre displays a laurel wreath encircling a medallion with the dates “1914 1918,” the reverse side plain except for the manufacturer’s initials “W.D.” and bee logo for Wilhelm Deumer, measures 37.3 mm (w) x 41.06 mm (h), on ring and suspended from period original triangular ribbon, and in extremely fine condition.
2) (Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen in Bronze). The oval badge bears the initials “DRL” (“Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen”) intertwined with, and surrounded by, an oak leaf wreath with a bow ribbon and swastika at the bottom, the reverse presents a vertical pinback, the reverse bears the manufacturer’s logo “WERNSTEIN JENA” and “D.R.G.M. 35269,” measures 38.79 mm (w) x 48.46 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
