A DRL Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon overlaid by a mobile swastika, with central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, maker marked “ERNST SCHNEIDER, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 39.34 mm (w) x 48.67 mm (h), weighing 16.2 grams, accompanied by its original issue and record booklet, constructed of white paper stock with 16 interior pages, named to “HEINZ HÖPFEN” of 8. Maschinengewehr Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment 55, born 1 July 1914, died 30 December 1983, with a black-and-white photograph of Höpfen, measuring 148 mm (w) x 208 mm (h); also accompanied by a German Life Saving Association stick pin, constructed of bronze, unmarked, measuring 22 mm (w) x 14 mm (h); all in extremely fine condition.
