An example of a third reich period DRK (German Red Cross/Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) Helferin (helper) badge; in silvered bronze with red, white, and black enamels; the obverse depicting a red cross within a bed of white enamels, circumscribed “Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Helferin” in German gothic lettering within a bed of black enamels; horizontal pinback; maker marked “1” for “Deschler & Sohn” and “Ges. Gesch.” on the reverse; measuring 29.06 mm; weighing 8.2 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
