(Ehrenzeichen für Deutsche Volkspflege). Instituted 1.5.1939. (Issued 1939-1945). Constructed of silver; the obverse depicting a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons superimposed on a cross; the reverse inscribed “Medaille für Deutsche Volkspflege” (Medal for German Social Welfare); on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon, measuring 38.15 mm in diameter, weighing 23.9 grams, in overall near very fine condition.
